Tish's Top 5!

Hello beauties!

Have you seen? I've renamed these posts 'Tish's Top 5' instead of just 'My Top 5'. I think it flows better. So, what have I been up to since my last post? Absolutely nothing is the answer to that. I went to town yesterday, and bought a few nice things (I'll do another post about that!) and today I had work and earned myself £50. I love having a well-paid job! I only worked for about 5 hours!

It's that time of week again! Well, it should have been posted yesterday but I didn't get round to doing it.. oops! This week it's 'Tish's Top 5 Actors'. Previous top 5 posts have never been in order of preference, but this is going to be a ranked top 5. Let's go!

1. Johnny Depp

Anyone who knows me will know that Johnny Depp is my favourite person in the whole entire world. He is such a brilliant actor, his beautiful looks are just a bonus! I love this guy so much, and any film he's in I can watch on repeat and not get bored. I think he works so well with Tim Burton, and gah I just love him. Johnny is one of those people who if I ever meet (which  I have made one of my many life goals) I will just break down and cry after. Wow. I have a 'Top 5 Johnny Depp films' lined up for you guys soon, where I can write a long post about everything I love about him! BET YOU CAN'T WAIT *sarcasm*.

2. Paul Rudd

Now this guy is an absolute beaut. The first film I ever saw him in was The 40 Year Old Virgin, which he was brilliant in. Then it was Knocked Up, which is another hilarious film. And then I started watching Friends (both one of the best and worst decisions of my life - best, because I cry with laughter but worst, because I am addicted to it no matter how many times I've seen each episode...) Paul Rudd as Mike is perfect. However, my favourite film starring him by far is Role Models. That film has me in stitches!

3. Ben Stiller

Another absolute genius. Most of the explanations about why I love these actors are going to be almost the same, seeing as they're all similar actors. Ben Stiller is in some of my favourite films of all time - Dodgeball, The Watch, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers, the list goes on! He's another one that can bring me to tears of laughter.

4. Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler is so so so similar to Ben Stiller for me. This is why I love both of them. Adam is also in some of my favourite films, such as Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky. Two films I know almost every word of.

5. Will Ferrell

This guy is an absolute classic. I think everyone loves Will Ferrell, and I almost had the privilege of meeting this guy... I say almost because he didn't stop, but there was only about 5 metres between us - one to tell the kids! Now, there's about 2 or 3 films I know EVERY single word of, and Step Brothers is one of them. I think everyone is with me when I say Step Brothers is an absolute classic. Brennan Huff is literally me but the older, male version. But I don't have some weird crush on my therapist, or put my mum's handbag in the freezer...

I hope you enjoyed the post, sorry it's a little bit rushed - like I've mentioned in the last couple of posts I am under so much pressure to revise for my exams, WHICH START TWO WEEKS TOMORROW! So yeah, I had to rush this post a little bit because I need to fit in some revision before going to bed! If you agree with me on any of the actors I've mentioned, let me know in the comments! Or tell me who your all time favourite actor is! I think my next top 5 is going to be actresses, you may be able to guess my number 1 seeing as I've mentioned Tim Burton and Johnny Depp already!

The Making of Harry Potter...

Hey people!

Well, this week has been a bit eventful, and it's only Thursday! Firstly, one of my favourite boybands of all time announced they were splitting up - JLS. I know a lot of people think JLS's fans are all 12 year old 'screamies', but I have been a fan since the start so you can imagine what I was like when I heard the news. I admit, I did shed a tear or two. I also had a sociology mock today, which went terribly. However, I thought the timings to answer were going to be so hard to get right but I managed to finish the paper with 5 minutes to check back which I'm quite pleased about!

Anyways, enough of my problems, I thought today's post could be about something really cool that I did a while back - Harry Potter Studios! I went there on a media trip, so we got all the perks like not having to queue to go in, and having a little talk before hand about what we were going to see. Before this trip, I wasn't a massive Harry Potter fan. I was so oblivious to the world of Harry Potter that I had only seen 3 of the films which is how it still stands. HOWEVER, I am reading the books before I watch the rest of the films, don't worry guys I'm on it! But what I can say is that the Harry Potter Studio Tour was possibly one of the best experiences of my life.

Firstly, you go into the lobby area and there are massive canvases of the characters around the edge of the room, as well as the car Ron and Harry fly. It's amazing! Then once you go through, there's a little presentation about the background behind Harry Potter - it wasn't very interesting to watch. Then you go through some doors into the cinema part, and that's where you watch Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson talk about the film and their experiences. THEN IT'S LITERALLY THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE THING. The cinema screen shoots up and behind it is the doors to the great hall. I'll only show you a few photos, I don't want to ruin it for you guys if you're planning on going any time soon!

just inside the great hall. You can see that there's some costumes behind the tables.

There were costumes scattered all over the place with little plaques on who wore what and in what movie.

There were three sections of the whole tour. The first part included the great hall which is the only part where you have a tour guide. You then walk round on your own and take your time looking at everything. In this part is loads of the sets, such as the Gryffindor Common Room, Dumbledore's office and Hagrid's hut. There's also the green screen area where you have a cheeky picture on a broom in one of the robes. I was so amazed at everything at this point, and the fact that they were the actual sets and not replicas makes it even better.

After this was the second section of the tour - the outside sets. This included things like number 4 Privet Drive, the Hogwart's bridge, the Knight Bus and the massive chess pieces. This is also where you can buy butterbeer, mixed reviews on that one. Here's just a few photos.

Hogwart's bridge - I think the snow made it look about 100 times better!

Me on the Knight Bus!

Privet Drive... there wasn't anyone in *sad face*

The next bit was the props section (I think that's what it was called). This was one of the most interesting part of the whole thing. There was a whole wall of shelves full of masks worn by the people who played the goblins at Gringott's bank. There were so many cool things to look at, such as a mechanical Buckbeak, and the Aragog they used in the Chamber of Secrets. It was honestly so amazing.

I don't want to talk about the rest of it, simply because it was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in my life and I don't want to ruin it for anyone who's reading and thinking of going. All I can say is that there's three more bits to see after the props section of the tour, and 2/3 of three of them are the best things I've ever seen in 16 years of my life. Hands down. I'll include a few selfies to give you all a hint!

I also came out of the gift shop one wand heavier than I was before. I was pretty chuffed with my purchase, and the wand sits proudly on my top shelf. I obviously got Bellatrix's wand - simply because Helena Bonham-Carter is one of my favourite people in the whole world.

Now, on this media trip, it wasn't just the Harry Potter Studios we went to. We also went to the Hard Rock Cafe and on the London Eye. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A MORE EXCITING SCHOOL TRIP IN MY LIFE. I have missed so much stuff out simply because 1) I would bore you all with my poor explanations, and 2) I really don't want to ruin it for anyone. I'll leave you with a few more photos from my time in London, I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I hope I haven't ruined it for anyone who's planning on going. Let me know what you guys think! (By the way, I highly recommend going to the Harry Potter Studios, whether you're a huge fan or not. Trust me, you will be inspired.)

Instaweek 2!

Hello guys!

Time for another instagram roundup. I apologize again for the lack of posts, I'm sure a lot of you know how stressful exams are. Therefore, this post isn't going to be very long because I still have loads of stuff to do for tomorrow. I swear teachers don't understand that we have loads and loads of revision to do for exams, because they always pile so much work on us to do in no time at all! I JUST WANT TO FOCUS ON GETTING GOOD A-LEVELS PLEASE! Anyways... on to the instagram photos:

1. Lesson selfies - when the teacher leaves the room, and your friend goes on her phone with this face, you just have to take a selfie with her...
2. New hoodie - my friend (who was in the previous photo) bought me a late birthday present. She had already bought me loads, but she found this for me. It's basically a jumper with a cat on the front, and cat ears.. me loves it.
3. Distractions - now, this isn't the only photo of my cat(s) this week, as you'll soon find out. I had to take a picture of this one, because every time I put her back down on the floor she'd climb back up and sit right where I was about to write... STRESS.
4. Cat selfie - she was being loving, so I had to take a photo!
5. Another cat selfie...
6. Sky-high heels - I had these heels for prom, and in the picture they don't look too high, but they are SO high. I'm so impressed with myself that I managed to keep them all night!
7. Revision - as I have already mentioned about a billion times, I have been doing gigantic amounts of revision.
8. Mirror Drawers - I love these drawers so much. They're the perfect size for anything small that you find on your dressing table! My nan bought them for my birthday but forgot to give them to me! I think they're from Sainsburys!
9. Silly photos - this one was supposed to be an embarrassing photo of my friend, as she was taking stupid ones of me, but it actually turned out to be quite a nice photo! It's because I have amazing photography skills (sarcasm intended).
10. More revision...
11. Patrick Stump - I have grown such a love for this man. If you don't know who he is, he is in Fall Out Boy, and if you read my previous post you would have found out that I have grown quite a big obsession with them. I just think Patrick Stump is a beautiful human being, that's all.
12. Yeah, more Patrick...
13. Goblet of Fire - I have started reading the Harry Potter books, and in about 2 and a half months I'm on the 4th book. I don't know whether I'm taking ages or not, but considering I have loads of things to do other than read, I don't think I'm doing too bad!
14. Another selfie - this one was before work, and it was taken at about half 8 in the morning. I wouldn't usually be that happy at that time in the morning, but because it was sunny and I was spending all day outside, I was pretty chuffed!
15. More cats - Tigger is such a photogenic cat, if there is such a thing! He just sits there in the perfect position waiting for you to take a photo, hence why there is always photos of him on my instagram...
16. Tigger, again!
17. AND AGAIN!
18. Strawberries and cream - I have grown to be very fond of strawberries. I have always liked them, but I think I've eaten about 3 punnets of them in the last couple of weeks to myself, oops! I just wish they weren't so expensive *sad face*
19. Another selfie - this was on the way to school, and yeah, it's my face

Hope you enjoyed my second instagram round up! I'm sorry these posts are really pointless, but I promise you they will get a lot better! Once exams are out the way! Only about a month or so.. ARGHHH!

My Top 5...

Hello again!

Now I know I have been lacking on the posts for the past week or so, last time I did anything was Monday, so apologies for that! It was the first week back at sixth form, and I have already been given about 12382903894 bits of homework to do for next week, as well as revision on top of that. It's so much work to do, but I've learned to prioritise properly now so I'm hoping I'll get good results in the summer! It's still only AS, really not looking forward to A2 next year!

However, I thought that because it's been a whole week since my last one, I'd do another top 5. This week's list is 'Top 5 Songs at the moment'. I would do the top 5 songs of all time, but there is no way I would be able to whittle it down to just 5. Therefore, I'm doing top 5 at the moment because there a few songs that I've become obsessed with and I cannot stop listening to.

So here's my top 5 songs (at the moment):

1. The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy

This is song is just amazing. I am aware that this is the album cover, and I'm not sure if they're releasing this song as an EP or not. Either way, it is one of the best songs I've heard in a long while, and I am completely obsessed with it. I bought it a couple of days ago and I've already listened to it about 30 times. Also, the video for it is really good, I love how Fall Out Boy are linking all their new videos together! Their new music has definitely made me love them even more than I did before!

2. My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) - Fall Out Boy

I am aware this is the second Fall Out Boy song in my top 5, but I don't care (does anyone see what I did there!?). Their new music is absolutely fabulous, and I can't wait until I have enough money to buy their full album! I can't praise them enough for making good music. Plus, Patrick Stump is looking gorgeous, I must say.

3. Radioactive - Imagine Dragons

This song is soooo good! Literally, I can listen to it on repeat and not get bored. I kept hearing it on the radio and on the music channels but never really got into it, and then I went to see The Host (which I must say is an excellent film) it was played in the credits and I could not stop singing it. I'm pretty sure my sister told me to shut up because I kept singing it over an over again...

4. Transylvania - Mcfly

A bit of a blast from the past, I must admit. I loved this song when I first heard it, and I still love it now. I hadn't heard it for ages, so I kind of just forgot about it, but then I bought the Memory Lane album and it was on the tracklist. Another one I love it Room On The Third Floor. Ah, old McFly was the best McFly!

5. Runaway Train - Sam Callahan

Now, I'm pretty sure most of you haven't heard about Sam Callahan, so I'm going to take this opportunity to promote him a bit and tell you a little info about him. He's a singer/songwriter from Essex, and boy is he talented. He does loads of covers, but most importantly he writes loads of his own music. This is the only one song he has officially released on itunes, but at the moment he's doing loads of 'crazy' things (#SamCallahansCrazyCampaign) to lead up to his new single being released - 'Crazy'. I wouldn't be telling you this much, but because Sam is doing all this and raising money for Teenage Cancer, I think it would be nice for me to leave the link so if you guys want to sponsor him and donate some money, you can! Zorbing, Sky Diving and Morris Dancing is just some of the things Sam is doing in his campaign, and he's already done some ghost hunting. So if you want to sponsor him, click here and donate! Simple! If you want to find out some of the other stuff he is doing, click here
Anyways, onto the song. It's been out for a while now, and I still can't stop listening to it! It's so catchy, and I really suggest you take a listen.
You can have a little look on Sam's youtube channel, or follow him on twitter.

Sorry for that cheeky bit of promo for Sam Callahan, I couldn't resist! I hope you guys go check him out, because he's so talented! I also hope you enjoyed the post, it would mean a lot if you left me a comment on what you thought about it!

Anyways, that's me done! Hopefully my next post will be something a little bit more interesting. Just with the amount of work I've been doing I haven't had time to think about what to do blog posts about! Once I get back into the routine of things, I'm sure posts will be coming at you thick and fast!

Week 1 of my Instaweek!

Hey there!

I didn't know what this post was going to be about, and then my sister suggested doing an 'Instagram roundup'. My instagram is just full of random things that I get up to during the week, so I thought it would be nice to share the pictures with you guys if you don't follow me!

1. Selfie - yeah, okay, I'm partial to a selfie once in a while!
2. Carpet Surfing - Maizey was being really playful, so she posed for a little picture!
3. Mother - so we went bowling, I took a few selfies with my mum....
4. Bowling - yeah, our bowling alley isn't anything special.
5. Frankenweenie - I couldn't wait to see this, I didn't manage to go to the cinema to see it *sad face*. But I can say I wasn't disappointed, mind you that might be a biased opinion because of my love for Tim Burton.
6 - Secret drawer - after Easter I have piles and piles and piles of chocolate to get through, but I've been using it as an incentive for revision so infact, I have got a good way through it!
7 - Mitsi's favourite toy - I have this small piece of blue ribbon that my cat absolutely loves.
8 - Thomas Parker - a picture of one of the times I met The Wanted, Tom is looking fineeeee!
9 - Jaybird - another picture from when I met The Wanted. Gotta love me a bit of Jay!
10 - Instant Wins - I have been living off these things, GAH WHY DOES MCDONALDS HAVE TO BE SO TASTY YET SO FATTENING!?
11 - Blog book - yeah, I got myself a blog book that I can write down my ideas when I think of them in random places (i.e. the shower or in bed)
12 - Intruder - my mum bought the dog a new bed, but one of my cats seem to have been using it more
13 - Cats - can you tell I love cats from the amount of photos there are of them? Just another one of Midnight!
14 - Harry Potter - I've only just started reading the books *hangs head in shame*... However, I am already 3/4 of the way through the 3rd book!
15 - Another cat selfie - self-explanatory really!
16 - GET AWAY - I put my water down on the side and looked away for a matter of seconds, and looked back to find my cat drinking my water. Guess she was thirsty!
17 - Peek-a-blue - I stole this look from a beauty youtuber I have been subscribed to for a while now, her name is Emma Pickles. I think she is fantastic, and this look was really simple for someone like me who doesn't have a clue what she's doing!
18 - Childhood times - I used to have these all the time when I was a kid - SLUSH PUPPIES! Mmmmm, additives and things that make me hyper!
19 - Drawers - I picked these beauties up in Matalan for £25. They're so nice, and they're the perfect size for all the little things that I manage to collect!
20 - Lips - I absolutely love this colour, I just wish I was brave enough to wear it in public!
21 - More cats - I was pretty impressed with the quality of this photo, seeing as it was just the camera on the iphone! Plus, it's of my cat.

That's all! There were a few more photos, but I thought that 21 was enough for you to look at! I hope you enjoyed looking at them all, and if you want to follow me, either click the button to find me on the sidebar on my blog, or just type in 'sladey96' and follow me! If you do, comment with your usernames if you would like a follow back!

My Top 5...

Hello there!

I've had this idea - once I week I give you my top 5 of something. I don't know how well this is going to work, or whether I'm going to keep it up or not. It just depends on whether you guys like it or not! (So make sure you comment with feedback!)

This week, I WAS going to do my top 5 films of all time, but instead I'm going to do a list of 'My top 5 places I want to visit'. This is because recently, I went to a gap year talk and the lady was talking about all these different places she went to, and how amazing it was. I just wish I had the guts to go around the world on my own!

So here's 5 of the places I find most amazing:

GREAT BARRIER REEF

Everything about this place absolutely amazes me. The colours and everything are so bright, and it's just full of life. I'd love for one day to visit it and do a bit of scuba diving. Better plan that visit soon, seeing as it's being completely destroyed... *sad face*.

VENICE, ITALY

Ever since watching The Tourist, I have fallen in love with Venice. I think it's so different how they get around on boats instead of cars, and the idea of that is really cool! All the buildings looks so old, and I just think it would be such an amazing place to visit.

HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

This is a bit of a random one if I'm honest, I just thought about this while writing this post. I would love to visit the walk of fame, simply because many of my favourite people have got one of those stars with their names on, such as Johnny Depp and Ellen Degeneres. I researched into this a little bit, and there's over 2,400 stars over 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, and 3 blocks of Vine Street. I can imagine that would take me ages to have a good look around! I'll do it one day!

WILD WADI WATER PARK, DUBAI

This water park looks soooooo cool! I would feel like such a child there, but I don't care! All the slides look so thrilling, and I just really want to go there. If I ever go to Dubai, this is definitely a place I'd visit. It isn't just the water park I'd want to visit, there's so much in Dubai I'd love to see (burj khalifa, the palm islands etc).

EIFFEL TOWER

I have been to the Eiffel Tower before, but it doesn't really count because I was only young and I can't remember it at all. I'd love to go to Paris, not just to the Eiffel Tower but to go shopping, and see everything there is to see. Also, Disneyland wouldn't go a miss! We went there when I was young as well, but I can't remember any of it. 17 isn't too old for Disneyland!

I hope you enjoyed reading! Those are my top 5 places that I would love to visit. I know a couple of them are just so typical, but I don't care, I still want to go there! There are so many other places, such as the grand canyon or the pyramids in egypt, but those are my top 5. They aren't in a particular order either (which they probably should be, as it's a top five). I couldn't choose which one I wanted to visit most! Ah well! Let me know what you think!

An obsession with nail varnish...

I am a massive collector of Barry M Nail Polish, I simply can't get enough! There's such a range of colours to choose from, and they're so cheap as well! Every time I go into Superdrug I end up buying two or three - that's how my collection has got so vast for someone who hasn't got a clue about nails. My obsession with them started only a few months ago, and I already have 14 colours.

So yeah, here's the one's I have at the moment (I am aware the picture quality is really bad, but I just wanted to show you how many I have, considering I only started buying them a few months back).

So, that's all the ones I have. The names are:
  • Base Coat, Top Coat and Nail Hardener
  • Matt White
  • Mint Green
  • Strawberry
  • Blueberry
  • Block Orange
  • Raspberry
  • Teal
  • Blueberry (Gelly)
  • Chameleon Blue (Chameleon effects)
  • Amethyst Glitter
  • Rose Quartz Glitter
  • Red Glitter
  • Pink Sapphire Glitter
I love them all, but I do have my favourites.

amethyst glitter/mint green/block orange

The amythyst glitter has got such nice colours in. You can either do one coat on top of another polish to get a glitter effect, or use a few coats and cover the whole nail in glitter. This is my all time favourite glitter polish. Next is the mint green. It's such a nice, pastel colour and it covers really nicely. I often use this along with a nail art pen to add some pretty detail and it always comes out really well. Last is the block orange. I LOVE this colour. It's such a summery colour, and really brightens up your nails. I recommend buying this one, simply because it's such a lovely colour! Plus, it was only like £3!

Although I love all the colours, there are a few that I'm a bit on the fence about...

Base coat, top coat and nail hardener/chameleon blue/raspberry

Starting with the clear varnish, I can't say it works that well to be honest. My nails aren't in any better condition since using it, yet it claims to be a 'nail hardener'. Next is the chameleon blue -  I absolutely love the idea of these nail varnishes but I'm not too keen on the colour of it. The whole idea of the chameleon varnishes is that you put a layer of it on, and then using a clear varnish you go over the top and make a pattern. It works really well, but the colour it starts off as, and the colour it turns to really doesn't appeal to me. Last is the raspberry. When I picked it up, I thought it was going to look really nice. However, it's such a dark colour and it really doesn't look right on my nails. It's probably just a personal thing, but I really didn't like what it looked like on.

So those are the nail varnishes I already have, and here's just a few that I have my eye on, which I am really wanting to buy -

That's all the ones I want for now, I really like the colours of them all, and the textured one really intrigues me! Can't wait to try it out!

I hope you enjoyed reading, I'm still new at this - I know I'm not very good! Would love to know what you think!
